Edit: I am not confused, Mike. Your shop is in Atlantic Highlands.

Stopped in to get my son's tire repaired. Service was quick and I found the shop to be a very welcoming and pleasant place. My son was eyeing up a bike there so we will be back once he's ready to upgrade!

Had to get my handlebars raised. He takes a quick glance at my bike and says I need a new part for 45 plus labor is 40. I said that's absurd and then he starts trying to make me feel bad "you're gonna go somewhere else after I told you what you need to do bro? That's not cool is it?" I was taken aback by this ridiculous service and left. Planet bike took my bike and raised it without a part in 3 minutes for free. Never go here

Edit: edit: Mike, you insist that your shop is in Middletown, however I was just in your shop in Atlantic Highlands.

I came into Mike's Bike with 2 tires that needed tubes installed. I found that Mike was very pleasant to deal with and I didn't have to drop off my tires and wait, he did it on the spot and price was very fair for parts and labor. I don't understand these negative reviews, you don't bring parts to your local auto mechanic and you don't expect auto repair service to be done on the spot, why would you expect the same from a bike guy?. I will be dealing with Mike again for future tune ups and purchases. Thank you again Mike, you made my wife and I very happy with your speedy turn around.

Edit after response: the handlebars were raised 3inches.

Misleading advertising - online, storefront ads indicating 50% off of every bike for the holidays and their anniversary. Once at the store I was shown one bicycle, which was the only "left" available for the 50% off sale price. The price printed on the bike was $719, therefore I assumed the 50% off price would have been $359.50, however, I was told the sale price was $419. Mike, the owner, said the $719 original price was also a "sale" price. Despite this I offered to purchase the bike and asked what the return policy is, as it is a gift. Was very rudely told "WE DO NOT HAVE A RETURN POLICY, NO BIKE STORE OFFERS RETURN POLICIES". There was no mention of warranty or even a store exchange, credit, if the bike didn't work properly. Considering the fact that the building is literally falling down and there was no heat on despite the 25 degree weather, one would think the owner would be a bit more customer service oriented, especially because I said I was going to buy the bike! Thankfully I realized my money would be much better spent at another shop, one with professional and courteous sales people. Do not waste your time shopping at Mike's.
